The Lake County Farm Heritage Association (LCFHA) is pledged to preserving an environment free from harassment, including sexual harassment. The aim of this policy is to prevent all harassment, which includes sexual harassment, of any kind by anyone associated with the LCFHA. Harassment is unlawful, and may include references to status, or conditions, or may serve to create a hostile, intimidating or uncomfortable environment. Sexual harassment is also against the law and is a form of gender discrimination.
Sexual harassment consists of unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or unwanted sexual attention by anyone associated with the LCFHA, regardless of gender. Sexual harassment includes, but is not limited to, obscene jokes, lewd comments, sexual depictions, repeated requests for dates, touching, staring or other sexual conduct committed either on or off LCFHA events.
Victims of harassment, including sexual harassment, have the right to sue the LCFHA, as well as the perpetrator, by contacting a state agency. Because harassment is unacceptable, and for the protection of the LCFHA and it’s members, LCFHA seeks to prevent harassment, including sexual harassment.
All LCFHA members are responsible for helping to ensure that our events are kept free of all harassment, including sexual harassment. If you feel you have been a victim of harassment, report the behavior to any LCFHA Officer. If you have witnessed harassment, you are urged to report the incident so that prompt action may be taken.
All harassment complaints, including sexual harassment, will be treated seriously, kept as confidential as possible and investigated fully. LCFHA expressly forbids any retaliation against members for reporting sexual harassment.
If the LCFHA deems that a false harassment charge has been filed, disciplinary action may be taken against anyone who provides that false information.
If the investigation confirms that harassment has more than likely to have occurred, immediate action will be taken to put an end to the harassment. LCFHA will take the appropriate corrective actions against anyone found to be in violation of this policy, up to and including the forfeiture of membership to the LCFHA, forfeiture of any paid dues, and a permanent banishment of all future LCFHA events.
